Employees

Employees are staff members that are directly employed by the company setup in Remote Flow.

They have slightly more access that a contractor, however the main difference is that contractors do notget processed in payroll!

Employees have a record but they do not necessarily have to have a login (for licensing purposes).

Setting up an employee

There are only two required fields for setting up an employee.

  • First Name
  • Last Name

Every other field is optional, however it’s recommended an email address is filled in.

Assigning access to Remote Flow

Once an employee has been created, the following steps are recommended.

  • Give the employee login access
  • Assign Dashboard and/or Mobile access
  • Allocate teams
  • Assign Payroll

Login Access

The Login tab is where you assign the employee a login.

Check the User Login enabled option to turn on the login.

Enter a username and then click on Update User. – Do this before updating the password!

Once you have setup the login, then you can update the employee’s password.

Dashboard / Mobile access

Depending on the employee’s role within the company, you may give them any combination of Dashboard or Mobile access.

The Dashboard & Mobile tabs have the different access available to the employee.

Note: Not assigning access to a menu item does not necessarily restrict the employees privileges.

Allocating Teams

The teams are used for grouping staff into business units and assigning specific options.

Note: Team managers are managed via Teams.

Assign Payroll

If the employee will be processed in payroll, then go to the Settings tab and select the Pay Period and Timesheet / Payroll Team.
